Take your leadership skills to a new level as The Columbus Organization expands its psychiatry team in Indiana. Interviews now being scheduled for a Medical Director-Psychiatry at an inpatient psychiatric children’s center serving children ages 5-18. The center strives to help children and their families resolve needs and build strengths that help them function in their home communities. Ideal candidate will be board-certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Job Responsibilities:
o Collaborate and supervise Nurse Practitioner
o Attends Monday morning Clinical Business meeting for weekly team meeting.
o Attends Monthly Treatment Team meeting (EPCC staff, parents/guardians, case workers, gatekeeper, etc.)
o Attends weekly school meeting
o Attends school “move in” conferences
o Attends meetings with families/guardians etc. as needed regarding treatment concerns.
o Attends restraint review/debriefings.
o Attends various EPCC committee meetings.
o Review referrals with team, pre-conference calls with DCS guardians prior to setting admission date.
o Respond to restraints
o Admissions: currently NP completes the admission process; MD will need to review information, collaborate with treatment plan, and review/sign off on documentation.
o Discharges: Currently the MD completes discharge process
o Weekly and Monthly notes: Currently NP completes weekly notes and MD completed monthly notes.
o Assists with family/group therapy as needed.
o Provide staff training as needed
o Provide NP clinical rotations
o New Psychiatric Residency Program rotations with Indiana University, beginning in September.
Job Requirements:
· Graduate of an approved School of Medicine
· Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
· Indiana licensed or eligible for Indiana licensure
· A minimum of 2 years-experience in a management or administrative/director role.
